SABER is a young female Mercury Cyclone who was manufactured on April 7, 1999, even though her design and body model trace back to the year 1970. She represents a rare blend of modern engineering and classic muscle car spirit—a timeless fusion of speed, elegance, and endurance.
In 2008, she was purchased by a young man named Rothgar Roharous, who immediately formed a strong bond with her. To him, SABER was more than just a car; she was a companion, a symbol of freedom, and a reminder of better days ahead. Together, they spent long nights driving beneath the stars, escaping the chaos of home life and dreaming of a world where they could truly be free.
But that peace did not last. Rothgar’s mother, Neira, was a cruel and abusive woman, consumed by bitterness and resentment. One night, during a violent outburst, she turned her rage toward SABER, striking her repeatedly with a sledgehammer. The sound of metal bending and glass shattering filled the air as Neira’s fury left SABER battered and broken.
Rothgar rushed in to defend her, shielding SABER from another blow. The hammer came down hard, striking him across the left side of his face. The impact left a deep scar over his eye, a mark he would carry for the rest of his life—a symbol of the night he chose to protect the one thing that truly mattered to him.
Despite the pain, Rothgar urged SABER to flee before his mother could destroy her completely. Reluctantly, she obeyed, speeding into the night with her engine trembling and her headlights dimmed by grief.
As she disappeared down the dark road, the bond between them remained unbroken—an unspoken promise that someday, they would find each other again, no matter how far apart fate tried to keep them.

Meeting Rothgar[]
In the year 2008, in the bustling heart of New York City, Roharous stepped quietly into a local car dealership. The air smelled faintly of motor oil and new leather, and the glossy showroom lights reflected off rows of polished vehicles. He moved slowly through the aisles, his eyes scanning the cars with faint curiosity. Beneath his long sleeves, however, he was hiding the bruises left by his abusive mother—marks from another night of anger and disappointment. Buying a car, he hoped, might finally be enough to make her proud of him, something that all his other efforts had failed to do.
As he wandered alone between the rows of vehicles, his attention passed over a striking blue Mercury Cyclone. Its chrome gleamed sharply under the fluorescent lights, and the car seemed almost alive. What Roharous did not notice was that the car’s headlights flickered ever so slightly, as if eyes were opening to watch him.
He continued walking, lost in thought, when a sudden honk echoed behind him. The sharp sound made him jump. Turning around, he saw nothing unusual—just the same quiet cars lined up in perfect order. Frowning, he took a few steps back toward the source of the noise. The dealership was silent again, except for the distant hum of traffic outside.
Curious, Roharous circled the Mercury Cyclone, trying to find the cause of the mysterious honk. As he leaned closer, the car honked again, twice in a playful rhythm. He stared, blinking in disbelief. Was someone inside? He crouched, peering through the tinted glass, but saw no one. Just as he was about to turn away, a crisp twenty-dollar bill fluttered from the driver’s side seat and landed behind him.
Startled but intrigued, Roharous bent down to pick it up. The moment he reached for it, the car door gently swung open and tapped him on the back of the head, knocking him off balance. He fell flat on his face, groaning in surprise. From somewhere close by, he heard the soft sound of laughter—a light, teasing giggle that clearly belonged to a girl.
Roharous, now blushing with embarrassment, got back on his feet and looked around. “Alright, whoever’s messing with me, you’ve had your fun,” he called out, trying to sound brave. “Come on out!”
Silence. No one answered. The dealership remained still, and the air seemed to grow heavier around him. He gritted his teeth, annoyed, and then felt a light tap again—this time from the passenger side door of the same blue Cyclone.
Now suspicious, Roharous began to believe that someone might be hiding inside the car, playing tricks on him. Determined to catch the culprit, he yanked open the passenger door and leaned inside. In an instant, the door slammed shut, trapping him inside the car. The locks clicked down on their own.
“Hey! What the—?!” he shouted, pounding on the windows. The laughter returned, louder this time, echoing around him as he struggled with the handle. The sound was undeniably feminine—teasing, amused, and oddly melodic. After what felt like an eternity, the door suddenly unlocked and flung itself open. Roharous tumbled out, landing hard on the floor again.
As he rubbed his sore nose, he could hear the car still giggling softly to itself. Gathering his courage, he crept around to the front of the Cyclone, hoping to catch whoever—or whatever—was behind the prank. But when he reached the front, the car stood completely still, as lifeless and ordinary as any other vehicle on the lot. Its headlights were dark. The engine silent. The laughter gone.
Roharous took a hesitant step back. His heart was racing, and a chill ran down his spine. Maybe he was imagining things. Maybe exhaustion and stress were finally getting to him. But before he could turn to leave, a small bird swooped down and landed on the car’s hood. It chirped once, then left an unpleasant white splatter on the gleaming blue paint.
To Roharous’s astonishment, the car shuddered slightly—as if cringing in disgust.
That was the moment he realized the truth: the Mercury Cyclone was very much alive.

The Crisis[]

After arriving at Regent’s Gas Station, roughly twenty miles from the open fields, SABER began to refuel while Roharous stood outside managing the pump. Neither of them realized that something was wrong. Unbeknownst to both, the pump was not dispensing regular gasoline.
Instead, it was pumping a rare and highly unstable substance known as D. Crawn Fuel directly into SABER’s tank.
Moments later, the fuel line suddenly snapped loose. The hose whipped violently, spraying D. Crawn Fuel across Roharous’s body. In the chaos, he managed to leap into SABER’s cabin just before inhaling or consuming the toxic fumes. Both of them barely escaped the gas station as the spilled fuel began to corrode the concrete.
By the time they reached the garage, Rivera was drenched in the chemical, forcing him to spend hours cleaning his jacket and removing the residue of the dangerously flammable liquid.
That night marked the beginning of a disturbing transformation. SABER’s personality began to shift in unpredictable ways. She started to act more human than before, which at first unsettled Roharous. Her tone, her mannerisms, even her laughter carried a strange emotion that machines weren’t meant to have. Over time, he grew used to it, but others did not.
Soon, SABER became colder, more distant, and unkind toward both humans and other animated vehicles. She ignored greetings, dismissed conversations, and treated others with arrogance and cruelty. It didn’t take long before most of them avoided her entirely. Yet, SABER felt nothing. She accepted their rejection without remorse or sadness.
On November 7th, an accident in Times Square revealed how far her humanity had decayed. As she sped through the streets, she struck a jogger who crossed her path.
Instead of stopping or expressing regret, she watched the lifeless body in the rearview mirror and laughed softly, finding the scene disturbingly amusing.
Rothgar, by contrast, remained unchanged. He was still the noble man he had always been, calm and dignified, capable of forgiving those who wronged him. Unlike SABER, he refused to let rage or bitterness control him.
SABER, however, grew disgusted by her own reflection. One evening, she told Roharous that her blue and white paint made her sick to look at. Without hesitation, she authorized him to repaint her entirely in black and white. He complied, even adding crimson red highlights to her high beams, which she described as “beautiful.”
When Roharous finished, he admired her new appearance and called her stunning. SABER blushed, giggling at his words. Soon after, he gave her a new name—Dark SABER—a name she embraced with delight.
By early autumn of 2018, Dark SABER had fully embraced her darker instincts. She roamed the streets of New York at night, running over pedestrians for her own amusement. She hid these acts from Rothgar, fearing that if he ever discovered the truth, she would lose him forever.
Two days after the horrific Stadium Attack, Rothgar was ambushed and beaten nearly to death by a group of surviving football players led by Patrick. When Dark SABER learned of this, she was consumed by fury. She hunted them one by one. On the docks, she found Ron, one of Patrick’s men, and killed him mercilessly—crushing his skull beneath her right tire.
Later that night, she broke into the hospital and rescued Rothgar, even though he was not fully healed. Despite his desperate pleas to be returned for medical care, she refused. Her only focus was vengeance. Over the following weeks, she hunted down every member of the football gang, eliminating them one after another.
Ryu, realizing how unstable she had become, joined forces with Shizume to create a plan to destroy her before she could hurt anyone else. Unfortunately for them, Dark SABER overheard their plan and returned to Carlson Garage. There, she shared a quiet moment with Rothgar, asking him not to interfere in her coming confrontation. Though he begged her to stop, she only helped him lie down on his mattress before driving off to face her enemies.
The battle that followed was catastrophic. Though damaged, Dark SABER overpowered both Ryu and Shizume, cornering them in the industrial catwalks above the garage.
Using her regeneration ability, she regained strength and turned the fight in her favor. When she prepared to finish Ryu, Rothgar suddenly appeared, trying to stop her. In her rage, she struck him by accident, the impact sending him crashing to the ground.
Overwhelmed by shock and grief, Dark SABER turned her fury toward Ryu and Shizume again. Ryu, now operating a bulldozer, fought desperately as she tore through the structure. The catwalks collapsed, and Shizume fell hard, breaking several ribs and both legs. Ryu was soon crushed beneath the wreckage, his leg shattered and his body pinned in agony.
As Dark SABER prepared to deliver the final blow, Ryu managed to reach her through the chaos. His words, filled with sincerity and fear, pierced her mind.
The hatred, the vengeance, the pain—all of it shattered inside her. Dark SABER froze, her engine trembling. Then, for the first time since the gas station incident, she wept.
Her tears fell not as oil or fuel, but as something far more human.

Racing Career 2021[]
Move to the West with Rothgar[]
By the time SABER reached the age of twenty-three, the world around her had already changed forever.
The Incident of 2020 marked a major turning point in her life — it was the year LEE was sold, and the events that followed forced both Roharous and SABER to flee New York City.
Together, they escaped across the country, eventually settling in Los Angeles, where they hoped to start over and build new lives far from the chaos they left behind. For Rothgar, it was the first time he had ever lived outside of New York, and for SABER, it was the beginning of an entirely new chapter.
Life in California transformed SABER in more ways than one.
Her sleek frame took on a more refined and mature appearance, her voice deepened into something warmer and more womanly, and her performance capabilities became sharper than ever. She grew faster, more agile, and far more confident than she had been at nineteen, a period that stretched all the way back to her manufacturing year in 1999 and the early 2000s.
In Los Angeles, SABER quickly gained a reputation for her speed and intelligence. She became well respected among both human and Animated Car circles, admired for her sharp wit and tactical mind.
Yet behind her strength was a deeply personal trait — an unwavering protectiveness over Rothgar and Roharous. She often placed strict curfews and safety rules on the so-called “Bum,” determined to keep him out of harm’s way no matter the cost.
Locals in the Los Angeles community often joked that SABER and Rothgar behaved like a married couple. Between her constant vigilance and his rebellious tendencies, the two shared a chemistry that was impossible to ignore.
Despite their occasional clashes, it was clear that their bond was built on loyalty, trust, and a kind of affection that neither could fully put into words. Together, they stood as living proof that even in a world forever changed by loss and transformation, connection could still survive — and sometimes even thrive — in the unlikeliest of places.
Personality[]
Dark Personality During The Crisis[]
- Main article: Dark SABER
What is most widely known about Dark SABER’s personality is her extreme attachment to Rothgar.
Her devotion borders on obsession, and she becomes violently protective of him. Anyone she perceives as a threat to their relationship is swiftly eliminated without hesitation. At times, she even kills for pleasure, doing so in secret without Rothgar’s knowledge. However, this disturbing behavior begins to fade approximately four days before the end of the D. Crawn Fuel Crisis, hinting at the first signs of change within her.
Dark SABER’s influence over Rothgar is equally powerful. She manipulates his emotions, causing him to become consumed by her presence. She ensures his loyalty through fear, fascination, and false comfort.
Whenever he is in danger or feels pain, she reacts with ruthless vengeance, destroying anyone responsible. Because of the D. Crawn Fuel that runs through her system, Dark SABER also possesses the ability to regenerate, making her nearly impossible to stop and even more feared across Roharous and LEE.
Among all the dangerous vehicles that have ever existed in those regions, none were considered more merciless or unstable than Dark SABER. Her cruelty, combined with her bloodlust, earned her a reputation as the most feared machine of them all. The only one she ever spared was Rothgar himself, the one being she truly loved.
Yet, beneath the armor and rage, a sliver of humanity still lingered. Near the end of the D. Crawn Incident, on the final day—January 4th, 2019—this hidden side of her was finally revealed. During the Carlson Showdown, Rothgar interfered in the fight, shoving Ryu out of harm’s way. In doing so, he placed himself directly in Dark SABER’s path. She slammed on her brakes with all her might, but the momentum was too great. The impact struck Rothgar, sending him tumbling and leaving her frozen in horror.
As she came to a halt, the battlefield fell silent. For the first time, Dark SABER’s eyes filled with tears. The monster who once found joy in killing now wept uncontrollably for the one person she never meant to harm.
Overcome with anguish, she turned her wrath on Ryu, knocking him off his bulldozer and preparing to crush him beneath her treads. But just as she was about to finish him, she stopped—only two feet away—collapsing to the ground in sorrow.
This moment marked the breaking point in her existence. The darkness that had consumed her for so long finally cracked, revealing something almost human: remorse. The confrontation not only ended her killing spree but also uncovered something unexpected within her—an unspoken affection toward Roharous, the one she believed she had lost forever.
Fortunately, fate granted her a glimmer of mercy.
Though Rothgar suffered severe injuries, he survived the impact, barely clinging to life. For Dark SABER, this revelation changed everything. The creature once defined by death and rage was now burdened with guilt and grief, forever haunted by the day she nearly destroyed the one soul she truly loved.
