KAREN, also known as CARRY, is a young female mini-submarine used by Rothgar Roharous for deep-sea expeditions and scientific discoveries during his years living in Los Angeles, California.
Her primary home is at the Arcadia Docks, a quiet facility on the southern countryside edge of Los Angeles.
The dock she occupies is long, weathered, and wide enough for a car to drive directly onto the pier, making it a convenient place for Roharous to prepare his equipment before each journey beneath the waves.
Although KAREN spends nearly all of her life in the water, she often dreams of the day when she might leave the sea and explore the world above the shoreline.
She longs to see trees, fields, mountains, and all the landscapes she has only heard stories about.
Years of staring at endless underwater scenery, from dark kelp forests to deep trenches, have made her yearn for the variety and beauty of the land she has never touched.
Like SABER and AMBER, KAREN harbors a small yet noticeable crush on Rothgar Roharous.
She treasures every moment they spend together and loves the way he speaks to her as if she were more than just a machine.
Whenever they venture out into the ocean, she feels both joy and concern.
She enjoys their time exploring the mysteries of the deep, but she also worries about his safety, especially when the waters grow rough or when the two of them approach unknown regions of the sea.
